The performance classes on Saturdays are used to prepare students who are interested in performing regularly and represent HDA in such things as “Sharing the Stage” a Queensland Ballet fund raiser, R.A.D. events plus other theatre productions which give students wonderful opportunities. An application form is available for these classes however a minimum commitment of 10 weeks is necessary. These classes cover ballet, contemporary and jazz. These classes also contribute to dance routines within our Japanese exchange program.

HDA are very proud to have provided their students with many guest teachers over the years including Terry-Lee Milne (Queensland Ballet/Expressions), Shane Weatherby (Qld Ballet), Lucette Aldous (Formerly Australian Ballet), Harold Collins (Formerly Artistic Director Queensland Ballet), Chris Goldsworthy (Formerly Australian Ballet) and Leanne Ringlestein (Australian Dance Theatre), Jaime Redfern (Expressions Dance Company) just to name a few, this year will be no exception.

Examinations
R.A.D. Juniors These exams are an integral part of your child's dancing year. They occur in July/August every year. However, all students wishing to sit junior exams MUST attend a minimum of two classes a week and make themselves available the second week of the June/July holidays for examination classes.

Private lessons are also available Friday afternoons from our Nerang Studio. Please book with Miss Annette.

R.A.D. Majors
These are held in Brisbane around May and August. Senior students are required to attend a minimum of three classes a week, plus Summer School held in preceding holidays in Brisbane.

Special Note
It is the policy of the Hinterland Dancing Academy that the major syllabi are intended to be a two year study for each level.

Annual Concert

End of year concert will be on Wednesday 12th December 2012. In the past all schools have been very co-operative with rehearsals and performances if they are given prior notice. Below you will find the dates of COMPULSORY rehearsals so please check these dates as soon as possible so that there are no disappointments at the end of the year. The most important part of a child’s development is his or her schooling and dance teachers will always support and co-operate with the school system in Queensland. Please keep in mind there are only two days a year we expect co-operation, which are Examination Day and Concert Day. All major students to be available last week of the September holidays to rehearse.
