The Royal Academy of Dancing has an international syllabus that has been established for
91 years, head quartered in London. The Academy have an extensive teaching programme starting
with students as young as 5 years old taking assessments up to university degrees. They provide the
knowledge for both performers and teachers alike, with courses as varied as child psychology, anatomy,
dance history and music. Their exam structure is strict, quite demanding but produces excellent
technique backed by the vocabulary, structure and understanding of classical dance.
