SUMMER DANCE AND CELEBRATION
End of year concert will be on Wednesday 12th December 2012. In the past all schools have been very co-operative with rehearsals and performances if they are given prior notice. Below you will find the dates of COMPULSORY rehearsals so please check these dates as soon as possible so that there are no disappointments at the end of the year. The most important part of a child’s development is his or her schooling and dance teachers will always support and co-operate with the school system in Queensland. Please keep in mind there are only two days a year we expect co-operation, which are Examination Day and Concert Day. All major students to be available last week of the September holidays to rehearse.

As usual the costuming, music and lighting is enthralling to both the audience and students alike. With a beautiful ballet based on the paintings of Degas and highlights of the exciting Spanish ballet Paquita all balletomanes will be delighted. A wonderful tribute to Michael Jackson will be another highlight of the evening from the jazz/tap students that will bring a tear to many an eye.

As if this isn’t enough to satisfy the hardest of critics, Annette Ashenden has invited Yuki Irie from Ballet Arts in Osaka and her beautiful students to join with her, once more in combining their students in dance and friendship. This follows the highly successful cultural exchange that has existed for the past four years of combined concerts in both Osaka and the Gold Coast involving over one hundred Japanese and Australian dancers.
